Hi. We are in the process of buying a house that does not have an oven. My wife uses an oven almost daily so that’s an issue. Would anyone have any suggestions on electric ovens available in Japan that can be integrated into the kitchen (vs. one sitting on a counter)? Since the house already has an IR range, we’re not looking for a slide in unit that has both a range and oven.

I have exactly what you mean, a large stand-alone electric oven big enough to roast a 25-pound turkey. Use it all the time. There was no room for it in my kitchen, so I stuck it on some bricks next to the kamado. You will need to install a 200v outlet, however.

I bought mine from an Australian couple that were running a little business importing them. I searched my email but couldn’t find any contact info, plus I think they stopped selling them a couple of years ago. I’ll keep poking around and see if I can find anything.

Thanks, Stuart. Can you share the maker and model?

Unfortunately, no make, model, or model number seems listed anywhere on the oven that I can see. It may be something built for restuarant/industrial use, though it’s the same size as a standard oven. It has a timer, temperature gauge, and options for directing heat (from above only, below only, etc.) but that’s it. I tried searching my email and Messenger hoping to find the people I dealt with, but that was eight years or so ago, and no luck so far. Next I’ll try perusing our folders where we keep receipts and manuals of larger appliances and see if I find anything there….
