ParticipantHi Satoko,
I’m trying to learn about the real estate world in Japan. Things like the steps of buying and selling, sources for market data, systems and regulations of governments, basics of construction methods. These would all be different from back home in Canada. Do you know of any decent online sources? Just anything really to feed my understanding.

ParticipantHello Ryan and thanks for your comment.
I’ve read your self introduction, you were a realtor!Wonderful!
I am a RE/MAX agent and I’d like to help you to learn about the industory. For now, I’d recommend you Nikkei report for the market data.
https://nrm.nikkei.co.jp/
Also Nomukomu report for the investment market.
https://www.nomu.com/english/report/There are more reports, but many of them are written in Japanese and these two are good.
I’d also like to recommend that you read a blog below, written by my friend Lily, who is also a RE/MAX agent (in Osaka).
In her blog, she explains a simple but very good way for people from overseas to buy a property in Japan.Buying Property in Japan as an Overseas Buyer: A Comprehensive Guide
